E2EE:

End-to-end encryption (E2EE) is a method of secure communication that prevents third-parties from accessing data while it is transferred from one end system or device to another. In E2EE, the data is encrypted on the sender’s system or device and only the recipient is able to decrypt it.

E-commerce:

Electronic-commerce (E-commerce) refers to business over the internet or electronic commerce. Websites such as Amazon.com and eBay are e-commerce sites. The two major forms of e-commerce are Business-to-Consumer (B2C) and Business-to-Business (B2B). While companies like Amazon.com cater mostly to consumers, other companies provide goods and services exclusively to other businesses. The terms “e-business” and “e-tailing” are often used synonymously with e-commerce.

EasyCare:

Viasat EasyCare is an optional extra level of support for your Viasat service that includes any required service calls, priority customer support and a discount for annual dish relocation — all for $8.99/mo. To learn more about Viasat EasyCare click here.

EasyChat:

A quick, simple way to get valuable help & info about your Viasat internet account. With the EasyChat tool you can check your monthly usage meter, set up data usage alerts, troubleshoot your service, reset your modem, connect to a live agent or have a Viasat agent email you, change your installation data/time, get installation notifications and MORE!

Emoji:

A small digital image, symbol or icon used to express an attitude, idea, emotion, etc. online and in in electronic communications like text messages, emails and social media. Emojis are often used to communicate a message playfully without using words 😃

Emoticon:

Short for “emotion icon”, is a pictorial representation of a facial expression using characters — usually punctuation marks, numbers and letters — to express a person’s feelings or mood, or as a time-saving method. Originally, these icons consisted of ASCII art, and later, Shift_JIS art and Unicode art. In recent times, graphical icons commonly known as emoji (see above), both static and animated, have joined the traditional text-based emoticons.

Encryption:

When information is put into a code to make sure it is secure and unreadable by others. Websites with addresses beginning with “https://” (instead of “http://”) are encrypted.

End-to-end encryption (E2EE):

A method of secure communication that prevents third-parties from accessing data while it is transferred from one end system or device to another. In ;E2EE, the data is encrypted on the sender’s system or device and only the recipient is able to decrypt it.

Ethernet:

Used to create a local access network (LAN) by connecting a number of devices to a shared network. The ethernet performs protocols to control the passing of internet data and helps avoid simultaneous transmission by two or more systems.

Ethernet Cable:

The physical cable cord used to carry the internet signal between your modem, router and computer. If you are using a wireless router, you do not need an Ethernet cable cord to connect your computer to the internet. Instead you will use a wireless modem like the Viasat WiFi Gateway Modem to connect to the internet wirelessly.

Exede:

Before the launch of Viasat’s latest satellite, the ViaSat-2, Exede was the forerunner to today’s Viasat residential internet service with the development of the first ViaSat-1 satellite. While there are still customers using Exede’s older ViaSat-1 satellite service, Exede is no longer available for purchase. Exede is owned by Viasat.
