A: Viasat Shield & Shield Premium are internet security services offered exclusively to our Viasat internet subscribers. The Viasat Shield mobile app monitors suspicious activity & online threats to guard your home network from cyber attacks – helping to keep your data and private information private. Viasat Shield actively blocks suspicious activity and provides alert notifications of any attempted attacks.
Q: Do I need Viasat Shield to use my Viasat internet service?
A: No, but as a courtesy to all our Viasat users, we now offer the basic Visaat Shield protection FREE to all our customers.
Q: What is the difference between Visat Shield and Viasat Viasat Shield Premium?
A: Viasat Shield & Shield Premium are simple to set up and both offer continuous security monitoring and allow you to view all your devices on your home network and their bandwidth usage. However, for an additional $5.99 a month you will get device control, comprehensive device protection and browsing protection for all your online devices.
Q: What is device control?
A: Device control allows you to choose which devices can access your Viasat home internet.
Q: What happens when the power goes out or my internet connection goes down?
A: Viasat Voice relies on your Viasat internet connection to place and receive phone calls. When you lose connectivity, you lose the ability to make or receive phone calls.
Q: What is included with the comprehensive device protection?
A: The Viasat Shield Premium service guards all the devices connected to your Viasat home network, including smart home devices and recommends security fixes as needed.
Q: What is Browsing protection?
A: Viasat Shield Premium offers browsing protection from suspicious or malicious websites.
Q: Can I cancel Viasat Shield Premium and still receive the free Viasat Shield protection?
A: Yes. You may cancel Viasat Shield Premium service at any time and still take advantage of all the features the Viasat Shield basic protection offers.
